Sony KDL40EX723BU TV Reviews. This is my first HD TV which replaces my old Sony TV which looks as deep at the back as it does wide from the front. The new TV looks incredible thin and although I've gone from a 28" to a 40" because I can push it back further it doesn't look that intrusive in the room.
As for the quality, sure I don't have much to compare it with, but it looks amazing, especially the few HD Channels which come with Freeview. Not sure about the
normal channels, I don't think they look as good as on my old TV so may have to invest in FreeSat. It was also simple to set up - almost just a case of switching it on and letting it set itself up.
Haven't tried 3D yet and to be honest didn't buy it for 3D so if its good then its a bonus - even though the glasses are ridiculously expensive.
Playing Battlefield 3 on PS3 is a whole new experience - I cant express how much better it looks. So far I've only watch some HD TV and half of Aliens on Blu Ray and so far I'm very impressed. I may need to reformat my portable HD as it wont read the files, but a minor niggle. Even the sound quality was better than expected - although my surround sound arrives next week.
Overall I'm estatic. Happy Days!

This really is a wonderful TV, worth every penny. The hardest part of getting it to work was putting the batteries into the remote! the set-up is exceptionally easy. The quality and depth of the picture is really out of this world, and I haven't even tried the 3D element as I am waiting on the arrival of my glasses. The look of the TV is great though I cannot comment too much on the sound as I run mine through an audio system. Amazon have been very very helpful except......why oh why do they use City link as carriers? 2 days I lost, waiting home for the arrival of my goods. It finally arrived at 20.13hrs on the day after it was supposed to arrive. I would suggest Amazon ditch City Link and seek a more reliable carrier as this is not my first problematic experience with City Link failing to deliver when expected. Their (City Link) web page is a joke and it is practically impossible to get through on the phone to them. It costs you a fortune when you finally do get a response to your call. But I can't thank Amazon enough.
Received my 3D glasses from Sony. Effect on Sky 3D channel 217 is brilliant. I can't understand why they don't work with Blu Ray 3D though. The sony 3D glasses now work perfect with the TV and 3D dvd Blu-Ray player could not ask for Better.

  1. This is a beautiful television, I had a blast playing with the display model when I was going hands on with some this weekend. Need to make my mind up quickly because the regular season for the NFL starts soon. I am replacing all three televisions in the house because I recently upgrade to the Hopper DVR from Dish and I figure I should take advantage of HD available to all three televisions with the one receiver. I can’t wait to watch some football on it, Peyton and the Broncos will run rough shot over the league. A coworker at Dish also told me that the Hopper has an excellent picture in picture system, so I can watch a game on one half and keep up to date on the rest of the league on the other half watching the Redzone channel.
