Good LG 42LD450 LCD TV

If you're looking for a new TV and aren't quite sure which one to get.

Good brand and high quality. Volume is great on the television and it is very easy to set up. We used the free view for a while before our Sky was put in and it was a pain that we had to reprogram it every time we turned the TV back on hence four stars. Other than that no complaints.

I'm more than happy with it (for three fifty), but the picture is a little dimmer than I was expecting (it's my first non CRT telly) - I had read a few things about minimising the backlight to maximise the life of the TV, but it's just too dim without it. Forget about putting a lamp behind the TV (I read that advice somewhere) - it actually shines right through and gives you a hotspot in the middle of the picture! It took too long to learn how to adjust the picture variables satisfactorily, so I opted for the preset cinema
setup, which has a balance that I like, but it's still a little bit dim, probably because it uses very little backlight, but it's easy to get used to it. There's a little bit of vignetting - a 5cm thick vertical strip on each edge is slightly dimmer than the rest of the picture, but you only really notice it when the picture is all the same colour. What HiFi gives the 37" version 5 stars and the 42" version 4 stars. I suspect they've got it about right.

This is a very good product, at an excellent price.
All the usual big name stores could not compete with the price of the goods compared to Amazon.
The TV package was excellent, Amazon was Excellent and the delivery arrived on time.
WHAT BETTER SERVICE CAN YOU ASK FOR. !!!
